The Erie Seawolves are a Double A baseball team located in Erie,PA. The Seawolves are a minor league team to the Detroit Tigers and have produced many talents. Justin Verlander, Curtis Granderson,Brennan Boesch,Ryan Raburn,Matt Joyce,John Lackey,Clete Thomas, etc are the talent that seems to Roar on the Shore of Lake Erie in the Spring through Fall. This team seems to always be tough and this year is no different. They have been through a lot of turnover due to all the injuries in the Detroit Tigers organization. Yet, they still manage to compete every night at a high level and find themselves as one of the hottest teams in the Eastern League.

The Erie Seawolves took down the Reading Phillies Friday night as they won the game 5 to 3. Bryan Pounds was able to drive in 3 runs by hitting a HR and an RBI single. Thad Weber pitched 7 and 2/3 strong innings and Reliever, Lester oliveros came in the 9th and struck out the side as the Seawolves took the game. Erie has a lot of young talent on there team.  First Baseman Rawley Bishop is very solid and was the Eastern League player of the week last week. He had a solid game for the Seawolves on Friday night as well. Also, pitcher Brooks Brown is there stud, he is 11-8 and has an ERA of 4.09.

We were able to catch up with Coach Phil Nevin after the game, along with Bryan Pounds, Rawley Bishop and Brooks Brown. We also sat down with the Eastern League leader in Hitting Tagg Bozied, who is 31 years old and has been in the minors for 10 years. Check out the interviews on We Bleed Sports Radio.

On behalf of the We Bleed Sports Nation, We would like to Thank the Seawolves for taking good care of us on Friday night. MR. Greg Gania was great and is one of the best play by play announcers that there is, in the minor leagues. We also would like to thank Coach/All Star Phil Nevin who answered all our questions as well as the whole team. It was a great experience and we enjoyed it and we hope to continue to cover Erie Seawolve Baseball.

Ofcourse you know what to do…KEEP IT LOCKED INN!

ESPN is Reporting that The “Rocket” Roger Clemens has been indicted. He is accused of lying to Congress about Steroid use. Details are very limited right now but it looks like Clemens has found himself in a whole lot of trouble.

I love Roger Clemens, I always thought he was the man and it really crushed me to hear that he had taken roids. Clemens was a great pitcher and its tough to think that all his success was due to taking steroids. “Rocket”, You let us All down.

The Atlanta Braves are ready to make the playoff push and try to get back into the World Seris. They made a trade today for First Baseman Derrek Lee, from the Chicago Cubs. This was a big time move as Lee has had a pretty good season and adds more power to the Braves lineup.

In other news, the Tampa Bay DRays swept the Texas Rangers and finished it off today with a 8 to 6 victory. Evan Longoria went 3 for 4 and had 4 RBIs to lead the way for the Rays. The Rays ended up out scoring the Rangers 24 to 11 in there 3 game seris. Texas has a lot to do to make some noise in this years playoffs.

Randy Wolf shut down the St Louis Cards as his Brewers won 3 to 2. Wolf pitched 8.1 innings and gave up 3 hits and 1 earned run. He struck out four in the win. Adam Wainwright pitched well for the Cards but didnt get the win. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and gave up all 3 runs. He did strike out 7 batters, but that just wasn’t enough. The Cards have some work to do as well if they are going to make a push towards October.

The Boston Redsox have lost another key player to injury. Center Fielder, Mike Cameron will have season ending surgery to repair a torn abdominal muscle. Just when Boston fans thought it couldn’t get any worse, it does.

ARod put the hammer down on not one, not two, but three Home Runs tonight against Kanas City. The Yanks went onto win the game 8 to 3, but the big story was ofcourse, ARod. The guy hit 3 bombs and folks, this just in, not one of those balls has landed yet. The guy hit all 3 over 400 feet. This was his fourth time doing this in his career.

Here are my thoughts on ARod hitting 3 Home Runs in one game. I think this means nothing, because he is a cheater. He has juiced up so much that the guy should hit 3 a game. I mean if a guy like, Matt Joyce hit 3 Home Runs in one game then yeah, Id be pumped and ready to give out credit, but lets remember, this is ARod. This is the same guy who said he didn’t cheat, when he did. The guy is a liar and I dont care how many balls he puts out over 400 feet, he doesn’t deserve the recognition. Not to mention, he did it against one of the worst teams in Baseball.

Calling all the We Bleed Sport nation. What do you guys think? Is the JMan being too hard on ARod? Does the guy really deserve all the credit? Well let me know because youve heard my take, and to me ARod is not a Hall of Famer! Keep It Locked INN!

This day in baseball got started in a big way. The Boston Redsox were up 5 to 2 on the Toronto Bluejays in the bottom of the 9th, Jose Bautista was leading off and couldn’t lay down a bunt. He just decided to do what hes been doing all year long and thats unload on a ball and he made it 5 to 3. Jonathan Papelbon was brought in to clean up and get the Sox in the win column and lets face it, the guy is usually very solid. Key word here, Usually. Vernon Wells came up and blasted a double, then Adam Lind ripped a single, scoring Wells, and making the game 5 to 4. Aaron Hill then came up and singled and moved the runner over to third. Travis Snyder came up and was K’d by Papelbon. Edwin Encarnacion came up and hammered a double scoring the guy on third, making it 5 to 5, There were now guys on second and third with still, just one out. Lyle Overbay pinched hit and was intentionally walked to try to get Lewis to hit into the double play to end the inning. Daniel Bard came in to take over for Papelbon and to face Fred Lewis. Lewis connected on a pitch and got the sac fly, scoring Hill as the Jays rang up 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th to win the ball game.

Moving on, The Dodgers took on the Phillies tonight and as usual, Phillies Pitcher Joe Blanton, got rung up early. He gave up 4 singles and 2 walks, and 3 runs in just the 1st inning alone. He ended up pitching 5.2 innings, giving up 8 Hits and 4 Earned Runs. The bullpen wasn’t much better as they gave up a combined 7Hits and 5 Earned Runs. LA took a 9 to 2 lead into the 8th inning, Safe right? In the words of Lee Corso, “Not so fast my friends”. The bottom of the 8th saw Ronald Belisario heading to the mound to help finish off the Phils. The first batter he faced was Placido Polanco, who singled. Next up, Mike Sweeney hit a single as well. Jason Werth came up and hammered a single and scored both runners making the game 9 to 4. Werth made it to Second on a balk, Ben Francisco came up and belted a double scoring Werth, making the game 9 to 5. That was the end of the night for Belisario and the Dodgers were ready to try there luck with Kenley Jansen. Jansen came in and got Carlos Ruiz to ground out, but then Wilson Valdez hit a single and scored Francisco, making the game 9 to 6. The Dodgers would get out of the inning up 9 to 6 but the damage was far from over. Jonathan Broxton, aka “Big Boy” came on to finish off the Phils in the bottom of the 9th. He came in and hit Polanco, then walked Sweeney and then Walked Jason Werth. The bases were loaded with no outs, and next up Ben Francisco who hit one to Third base, only problem was Casey Blake let it go right through the wickets, and that scored 2 runs making it 9 to 8. Guys were on first and second with no outs,  and Carlos Ruiz made up for his ground out in the 8th, by punching a double in the gap, scoring 2 and the Phils won the game 10 to 9. This was unreal, what a come back by the Phils. They scored 7 unanswered runs and just blew up the Dodger bullpen. You have to ask yourselves, what were they drinking in the Bullpen tonight?

Later on in the night, we had the Twins trying to reclaim the AL Central back from the Chicago Whitesox. Orlando Hudson started it off in the 1st inning blasting a HR and giving the Twins the early 1 to 0 lead. The Chisox came back in the bottom part of the inning as A.J. Pierzynski got a single scoring a run and evening it up at 1. Jim Thome got his former team back in the second by hitting an Sac Fly, RBI and helping the Twins regain the lead, at 2 to 1. After a Balk in the 3rd inning the Twins upped there lead to 3 to 1 and then in the 7th inning, Jason Kubel Unloaded on a pitch and hit a three run shot, making it 6 to 1. That was how it ended, as the Twins pitcher, Francsico Liriano pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 7 hits but only 1 earned run. The bullpen came in and finished up the game for him, pitching 3.1 innings giving up only 2 hits and no runs. The Twins now have 1st place back and I dont think they will lose it the rest of the year.

Last but not least, the New York Yankees were out in Kanas City tonight to take on those tricky, Royals. New York started out with a 3 to 1 lead and then getting it to 4 to 1 heading into the 9th inning. C.C. Sabathia took his complete game into the 9th getting the first out. The next guy up for the Royals, Alex Gordon, singled and then Mike Aviles singled as well. Mitch Maier was next up and he grounded into a fielders choice, which Aviles was out at second. So now there were runners on the corners with 2 outs. David Robertson came on to try to put the finishing touches on Sabathias great game. Maier ended up taking 2nd on a fielders indifference, and then Willie Bloomquist came up and ripped a single, scoring both Gordon and Maier, making the game 4 to 3, with a man on 1st. Wilson Betermit came up and singled as well and the Royals had guys on first and second with 2 outs. But we all know how the Royals are, and just like that Jason Kendall came up and struck out, and the ball game was over, as the Yanks hung on to win 4 to 3. C.C. pitched 8.2 innings, giving up 10 hits and 3 ERs. Derek Jeter was 2 for 5 and Nick Swisher was 3 for 4 in the Yanks win tonight.

What a night in Baseball! It seemed like everyone was comming back tonight and what happened to the pitching? It’s been the year of the pitcher, well not tonight. Baseball is really starting to get good, because we are on the final stretch towards October. Keep it Locked INN!

The New York Mets Ace Johan Santana, pitched a Complete game on Thursday shutting down the Colorado Rockies 4 to 0. Santana threw a 4 hitter and struck out 10 Rockies. He also did it with the bat by getting a hit and scoring a run. Carlos “Where You Been All Year” Beltran has his finest outting of the year, going 3-3 with an RBI. Jose Reyes also chipped in going 2-4 with an RBI. Look out here comes the M-E-T-S…..OH WAIT……

We all know how the Mets are, they never can put it together this time of the year. Usually, they are the ones with the big lead and someone just comes from behind and takes it away from them. This year they find themselves chasing the Phillies and Braves. The Mets are 9 games back of the Braves and 2.5 back of the Phils. Sorry Met fans but it looks like its time to look forward to the J-E-T-S or the GMen, because the Mets are finished.

The Chicago Whitesox have tied up the AL Central with the Minnesota Twins, after defeating them 6 to 1 tonight. John Danks pitched 8 innings and only gave up 6 hits and one Earned Run. He struck out 7 as well to help lead the ChiSox to the win. Carlos Quentin hit a 2 run shot in the bottom of the 2nd inning and the sox only looked up from there.

I remember last year at this time, the Tigers were in the drivers seat and the Twins came back and they ended up playing in a play in game, and the winner got to meet the Yanks in the first round of the playoffs. We all knew who won that one and now the Whitesox are making there move to try to take the Central title away from the Twins. I still like the Twins in the Central, because like the Yankees, they’ve been there done that. They have expirence and they have some big time players, that know how to play in big time situations.

The Arizona Diamondbacks, yes thats right, the D-Backs crushed 4 straight HRs tonight in a 8 to 2 win, against the Brew crew. Adam Laroche started it off  with a blast and that was followed by Miguel Montero. Then the next guy up, fresh off his benching this past week was, Mark Reynolds, and he hit one as well. After that Stephen Drew came up and left the yard as well, completing  back to back to back to back HRs. This was only the 7th time in the history of the game that this has happened.

The Brew Crews David Bush took a 2 to 0 lead into the 4rth inning and had one out already under his belt. Then Laroche came up, and that was when all hell seemed to break loose. Congrats David, your in the history books. I wonder how you give up 4 straight bombs at your home park. David said after the game that he was assuming that he had some location problems there during that stretch of hitters. Wow David, thanks for telling us what happened out there because we all couldn’t figure that one out. I just cant figure out how you have that bad of location, that many times in a row.  I have a great idea, why dont we just let David Bush pitch in the HR Derby during the All Star break. I mean the guy loves serving them up so why not have him be the pitcher for it?  The guy loves to serve up bombs, hmmmm kinda reminds me of another guy named Bush…….
